Project information

  • Category: SAP Business Object
  • Employer: São Paulo State Treasury Department / University of São Paulo (USP)
  • Project date: 2018 - 2024
  • Challenge: Develop and publish management reports to support ICMS accumulated credit audits in São Paulo. ICMS (value added tax) credit refers to tax credits granted to businesses in São Paulo for certain transactions, allowing them to offset future tax liabilities. The goal was to create insightful reports using SAP BusinessObjects to help audit teams efficiently analyze and monitor these credits.

Creating and publishing reports

Approach:

We leveraged SAP BusinessObjects Rich Client to design and develop detailed reports, pulling data from various Datamarts. This involved:
  • Connecting to large-scale databases (Datawarehouse DW Sybase), ensuring proper data extraction and transformation.
  • Creating dynamic and interactive reports to highlight discrepancies and trends in accumulated ICMS credits.
  • Publishing and managing reports on the SAP BusinessObjects Launchpad, enabling easy access for audit teams.
  • By structuring queries efficiently and optimizing report performance, we ensured that the audit teams had real-time access to actionable insights.

    Results:

  • Improved efficiency in credit accumulation audits through structured and automated reporting.
  • Enabled better decision-making by providing clear and data-driven visualizations.
  • Enhanced collaboration between auditors and data teams by centralizing report access.
  • This project significantly strengthened the department’s ability to detect irregularities and ensure compliance with tax regulations, leveraging SAP Business Objects as a robust business intelligence tool.
